Dr. Bentley Payne was raised in Caddo Mills, Texas, where her passion for animals began at an early age on her family’s farm. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Auburn University before pursuing her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree at Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. B” has a special interest in surgery, shelter medicine, and exotic animal medicine. Throughout her training, she gained extensive experience in large animal medicine through rodeo-focused externships and rotations at equine referral hospitals. She also broadened her veterinary knowledge through an exotic animal medicine externship in South Africa, where she worked with a diverse range of wildlife species.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. B can often be found reading a good book, exploring hiking trails with her Great Dane and best friend, Rodney Joe, or spending time riding horses.
